With the summer well and truly in swing, it’s time to BBQ some awesome meals in the glorious sunshine. This ranch dipping sauce with gherkin takes standard sauces up a few notches, and is perfect for ribs, chicken wings and grilled vegetables. It’s even great with cod goujon!
Ranch Dipping Sauce with Gherkin

Equipment
- Small bowl with lid (or clingfilm)
- Measuring jug and spoons
- Sharp knife
- Chopping board
- Mixing fork
Ingredients
- 200g mayonnaise
- 100g sour cream
- 50g cocktail gherkins
- 2 tsp finely chopped fresh chives
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ½ tsp dried dill weed
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- Pinch salt
- Pinch black pepper
- Fresh lemon juice
Method
- Pat the cocktail gherkins dry then finely chop them.
- Combine all of the ingredients except the lemon juice into a bowl, mix them all up with a fork. Then add a little lemon juice to taste.
- Put a lid (or clingfilm) on the bowl and store in a fridge overnight.

Perfect dip for chips, amazing idea for a party!
